Pharmacy Technician, Pharmacy

Pharmacy Technicians practise as members of a multi-disciplinary team in accordance with the Regulated Health Professions Act, the Public Hospitals Act, and the standards set by the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) and follow the Hospital’s Mission, Vision and Values, and policies and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Member of good standing as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
• Minimum of one (1) year current experience in a Hospital preferred Pharmacy
• Experience with computerized pharmacy system(s), demonstrated computer literacy
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and with respect in an oral and written format with patients, public, colleagues and other health disciplines
• Must have demonstrated ability to meet the attendance standards of the Hospital
• Demonstrated commitment to continuing education activities supporting ongoing professional learning as required by the Ontario College of Pharmacists
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Demonstrated effective problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Certified with NAPRA Model Standards to prepare sterile, hazardous, and non-hazardous products is an asset
• Bilingualism is an asset
• Embodies the LEAN ideology by actively and continually seeking opportunities for continuous improvement.
